Today we are here to discuss the types of chiropractic treatment you can expect to be used by your chiropractors in case of chronic ailment or injury.

First and first, let me explain what chiropractic care is. Chiropractic therapy is a non-invasive(not involving the introduction of instruments into the body.), hands-on approach to treating a variety of pains and injuries. It is the most effective technique of pain relief. Suffering from back pain, neck pain, arthritis, headache, sprains, etc. Today, Chiropractor is well known for pain management.

As per WebMD, Chiropractors see over 22 million people in the United States each year. 7.7 million people are seeking relief from back discomfort caused by a variety of factors such as accidents, sports injuries, and muscle strains. Neck, arm, and leg discomfort, as well as headaches, are other common symptoms.

There are diversified Chiropractic treatments based on the condition and problem of the patient

Let us look and have the Basic Understanding of the 7 types of Chiropractic Treatment that Chiropractors use to alleviate the chronic pain of their patient

Soft Tissue Manual Therapy

This sort of chiropractic treatment is primarily used to treat many types of soft tissues, resulting in tissue improvement. Muscles, ligaments, joint capsules, and tendons are the soft tissues in concern.

The goal of this treatment is to relax your tight muscles, relieve spasms, and relieve fascia tension. This therapy aids in the removal of toxins and the improvement of blood flow and circulation in the body.

It is used to relieve physical discomfort caused by muscular overuse, chronic pain, and stress. The active release method and the Graston technique, are two of the procedures utilized in the therapy. The customer who requires this form of therapy is usually involved in intense physical activity. As a result, this therapy relieves stress from the muscles of the body.

Gonstead Stead Technique

It is the most common chiropractic technique used founded in 1923 by Clarence Gonstead.

This technique is based on hands-on Expertise where the major focus is to address the problem as specifically as possible.

Here the chiropractor analyzes the spinal region thoroughly to accurately determine the area of the problem. Once it’s done spine is realigned and adjusted to reduce pain and inflammation.

It is specifically intended for spine-related illnesses and ensures a speedy recovery without putting the patient at risk.

It also corrects issues caused by spinal subluxation, such as long-term back discomfort or nervous system interference. It can also be utilized to help people regain or maintain their health.

As per Wikipedia, About 28.9% of patients have been treated with the Gonstead technique.

Activator Method

The activator adjusting tool, often known as a hand-held mechanical device, is used in this style of chiropractic therapy. The activator is used by the chiropractor to apply a gentle impulse force to the spine’s vertebral segments, restoring mobility and flexibility to a specific spinal vertebra or joint.

When a spinal joint is misaligned, it impacts directly on the region intended for blood flow and nerves, resulting in discomfort and numbness.

The activator uses mild pressure to return it to its original position and avoid additional harm. This is a gentle pounding sensation that is not at all unpleasant.

According to the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners(NBCE) found that 69.9% of chiropractors used the technique, and 23.9% of patients received it.

The device is great for preventing the rest of the spine or other joints from shifting into risky postures since it allows for pinpoint force.

Diversified Technique

The direct thrust method, also known as the Diversified technique, is one of the oldest and most widely practiced chiropractic treatments, with around 96 percent of chiropractors employing it on over 70% of their patients.

A chiropractor uses their hands to provide a fast push or impulse to align the spine in this sort of chiropractic treatment.

This includes swiftly twisting a region of your spine (such as your thoracic spine) to one side (application of a rapid thrust).

How to avoid injuries while lifting

The cracking sound is created by escaping gas that is released when the joint is pushed beyond its range of motion. Patients with lumbar disc herniation, which causes neck and back discomfort, whiplash, headaches, or misaligned bones or joints, are treated with this approach. It provides immediate pain relief, but because of the high force used, it is considered a riskier procedure than other manipulative techniques.

As per the Research, approximately 96% of chiropractors use Diversified techniques for approximately 70% of their patients

Flexion-Distraction

Flexion-distraction is a gentle, low-force chiropractic treatment that tries to ease pressure on spinal nerves that may be strained. This procedure involves the chiropractor gently manipulating your spine on a segmented table that moves.

Flexion-distraction is a non-surgical alternative to surgery for treating disc bulges and herniation. It also improves spinal mobility inside the joints of the spine and discs.

It’s used to treat lumbar spine problems like low back pain, sprains, and strains, as well as sciatica symptoms, arthritis, lumbar disc damage, scoliosis, and leg and neck discomfort.

Thompson Technique Treatment

This is also known as the drop method, and it is a full-spine adjustment technique. It includes the use of specific treatment tables with drop mechanisms that allow for low-amplitude, high-velocity, and low-force adjustments. During the adjustments, the table descends slightly as the doctor delivers thrusts.

The patient benefits from fewer aggressive adjustments, stability, and comfort as a result of this approach.

It also increases the doctor’s clinical lifespan throughout the manipulation. Following the adjustment, the patient feels a warm sensation spread throughout his or her body.

It’s utilized to promote sleep, restore proper nerve function, relieve pain, decrease stress, and increase physical function.

Therapeutic Stretches

It is critical to practice therapeutic stretches after sustaining an injury since they are particularly efficient in preventing the formation of scar tissues.

It is vital to follow your chiropractor’s recommendations extremely carefully when executing these stretches, just as it is when conducting your normal workouts.

If you have recovered from your accident, it is equally critical to stretch regularly to maintain flexibility, mobility, and optimal condition of the muscles that have previously healed.
